Christadelphians are a worldwide community
established 150 years ago.
Our aim is to follow as closely as possible the teaching and example of Jesus,
as recorded in the Bible.
We try to read the Bible at least once a year, and as a result of these
studies, we hold the following beliefs.
1) There is only true God. He dwells in Heaven, immortal and invisible and all
powerful. (Isa 45.v5-6, 1 Tim 6. v15-16)
2) God created the entire universe and has a great purpose for the world. (Gen
1; Num 14. v 21).
3) The Bible is the inspired word of God given by him to benefit mankind. (2 Tim
3.v16; 2 Pet 1.v 20-21)
4) The Holy Spirit is the power of God which he uses to fulfill his purpose, or
his Holy will. (Job 33.v 4; Rom 8.v11)
5) Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is also the Son of man through being born
of Mary. (Luke 1.v35; Rom 1.v3-4)
6) Jesus overcame all temptation and died to save his followers from sin and
death. (Rom 10.v9-13; 1 Tim 1.v15-16)
7) Jesus was raised from the dead by God. Later he ascended into heaven but he
will return. (Acts 2.v22-27; 1.v11)
8) When Jesus returns to the earth he will raise and judge the responsible dead
and give eternal life to all faithful. (Dan 12.v1-12; John 5.v28-29)
9) He will be King over the restored Kingdom of God in Israel and over the whole
world. (Isa 9.v6-7; Zech 14.v 9)
10) The followers of Christ, made immortal, will help him to bring everlasting
righteousness and peace worldwide. (Micah 4.v1-5; Matt 19.v1-27)
11) The devil is not a supernatural being but is another name for sin, destroyed
only in Christ. (Matt 15.v19-20; Heb 2.v14-15)
12) Salvation involves covering our sins through Christ and freedom from sin and
death at his coming. (Heb 9.v27-28; 1 Peter 2.v21-24)
13) When we die we cease to exist. The only hope of life is by resurrection at
Christ's return. (Eccles 9.v5-6; Rom 5.v21)
14) Belief in God's promises about the Kingdom of God and the work of Jesus
Christ is essential. (Gal 3.v6-9; v14; v16; v26-29)
15) Repentance and baptism into Christ by full immersion and daily following
him, are necessary for ultimate salvation. (Mark 16.v15-16; Rom 6.v4)
